Aunt Honey

One of my favorite Buck roses. Griffith called this a shrub, but I view it to be more Grandaflora like. Rich-True Soft pink blooms. Doubled and full of a fantastic rich Damask fragrance. May have some die back, but comes back bigger and better each year. This is a personal favorite for our breeding program. Disease resistance moderately strong.

Baby Love

This is a splendid dwarf shrublet, bearing with great freedom and continuity, saucer-shaped, buttercup yellow flowers.  They are small, with 5 petals and borne one to a stem, close to the foliage at all levels on a low, rounded plant.  They have a slight fragrance.  The small, mid-green, semi-glossy foliage is an ideal complement to the blooms.

Blanc Double de Coubert

A beloved member of the Rugosa family because of the nearly continual production of pure white large double flowers saturated with fragrance.  Its tidy habit makes it easier to tuck into a modern landscape than most of the other family members.  But it's still a Rugosa - tough, hardy and naturally resistant.  Red hips ripen in the fall.

Developed in France by the Meilland family 1981. Great for group planting, strong arching and spreading habit. Carefree Beauty

To us at Boylan Farms this rose is clearly one of the best pink shrub roses. As a cornerstone of our breeding program we continue to be amazed at its performance. This rose is great for the bingeing or the advanced grower. The names says it all. The flower large 4" blooms, great repeat, looks great as a solo bush or in a corner group planting. Bucks beauty is easy to grow, very hardy, and blooms its head off.

This repeat-flowering shrub gives moderately vigorous, bushy growth that is very healthy.  It was breed to exist in the hard climate of North America, so tolerates extremely cold winters.  It carries dark red, double flowers, each holding up to 30 petals, that are large, slightly fragrant and are borne in profusion on this compact plant.  The leaves are small and dark yellow-green.

Distant Drums

Here's a striking color amongst the hardy roses released by the late Dr. Griffith Buck.  Distant Drums grows much like a Floribunda in habit, drumming out clusters of pointed brunette buds that swirl open to reveal ruffles washed with orchid pink.  All this is set to music against dark green foliage makes for a top-tapping commotion in the landscape.

Golden Unicorn

The late Dr. Griffith Buck devoted his life's work to the hybridizing of hardy, clean roses at Iowa State University.  Much of his efforts are just coming into appreciation today.  Many of his varieties are pink-the easier color to achieve in any rose breeding program.  Yellow-toned roses that are truly hardy are quite rare.  The large golden flowers and glossy green foliage of Golden Unicorn laugh at 'old man winter' and look great in the landscape.

Hawkeye Belle

The flowers of this rose are large and beautiful in their construction, and are borne in clusters on strong stems.  The plump, pointed buds open to show high centers at first, then, as they expand, the many petals resemble a coiled spring at the heart of the bloom.  The petals gradually part to create overlapping layers, which give a charming effect at the fully open stage.  The color is ivory white, lightly suffused with azalea pink as the flowers open.  There is ascent and flowering continues through summer and autumn.

Hope for Humanity

The deep wine red buds of this splendid Parkland Series rose appear in small clusters of four to five, then open to fragrant cupped flowers of blood red that bloom continuously throughout summer starting in June.  The lustrous green foliage has good resistance to disease and joins with the flowers for a striking result.
