We are proud to say that we have
been a family owned and operated Farm in Iowa since 1999. Our first
greenhouse was a 10' x 30' hoop house we constructed by our home North of
DeWitt, IA. When we decided that we wanted to expand our operations, we
contacted the USDA. After many negotiations, they finally agreed that
roses and berries did qualify as an alternative crop. They loaned us the
funds through the Rural Development program to pursue growing these high value
added agriculture crops. Our focus is on alternative crops including
own-root hardy roses, berries, and rhubarb.
Our greatest pride is the farms
ability for job creation opportunities for special needs workers. We have been
working with a agency called DAC for two years as our main pool of potters and
field hands. Dac Inc is not-for-profit organization that provides residential
and vocational services to people with disabilities.
Our family and the workers that we
like to call our kids, appreciate each and every customer we have. It is your
belief in us that pushes Boylan Farms to only get better.
Thank you for your trust and
support.
Blessings
Lori and Bob Boylan
